April Earth Month 2016 – We’ve Arrived Boston!!!

Category:

Our team at ProYo is dedicated to giving back to local and national causes that help protect our environment. It matters a lot to us, especially coming from Santa Barbara, Calif., where Earth Day was first celebrated back in 1970, and where we are active supporters of local ocean programs.

As we started to pop up on shelves in New England, we were super pumped to learn that Bostonians share our environmental passion, including protecting the Charles River, where, like our ocean fronts in Cali, locals go to connect back to nature and exercise.

Today, we’re proud to look back at April Earth Month 2016, and the variety of ways we got to partner with our local retailers, game-changers in fitness and the Charles River Watershed Association (CRWA) to help Bostonians celebrate and give back.

Earth Month at Star Market Stores

Throughout April, our friends at Star Market helped remind Bostonians about Earth Month with in-store displays, radio ads and samples of products that are created with Mother Earth in mind. You may have seen our High Protein Frozen Yogurts touted as an Earth-friendly option.

Flywheel #EarthRide

On April 28, we partnered with the Flywheel studio at the Pru in the Back Bay to give Bostonians an awesome way to get fit, refuel and give back for Earth Month. On that day, we donated $5 to CRWA for each person who participated in an afternoon or evening Flywheel class. With the help of some pretty fit riders, we raised $1,000 for CRWA to help with their ongoing watershed protection programs.

Earth Day Charles River Cleanup

IMG_3958IMG_3956We rounded out the month supporting CRWA’s Annual Earth Day Charles River Cleanup on April 30, where more than 3,000 volunteers gathered up-and-down the river to pick up litter, remove invasive species and assist with park maintenance. The annual event builds on the national effort of American Rivers’ National River Cleanup, which to date has removed nearly 21 million pounds of trash from America’s waterways. Our team was on-site during the Cleanup to help keep volunteers fueled with High Protein Frozen Yogurt.

We’re so thankful and honored by the opportunity to help give back in Boston, and we have more exciting plans to do more this month. Want to join in on our fun? Make sure to Like us on Facebook where we share our latest local event news.
