Chocolate Peppermint Smoothie

With the Christmas holiday upon us, it seemed fitting to kickoff the day with a healthy holiday treat. If you’re like us, nothing screams the holidays like peppermint and chocolate.  However, these two flavors often mean that we’ve got to sip down a fattening hot chocolate or sneak a piece of some peppermint bark.  Now technically, there is nothing inherently wrong with having either of these items in moderation, however its really hard to fit them in our diets all the time. So we came up with this chocolate-peppermint protein smoothie, made with Chocolate ProYo and some Simply Organic Peppermint Flavor, as our little holiday “cheat”.   If you wanted to, you could use a piece of candy cane, but we opted not to because of the additional sugar that it adds. So instead, we went with a more natural organic peppermint flavor, to make it much cleaner. Its delicious, nutritious, and totally fits in our daily meal plan. Here is the recipe: –  1 Chocolate ProYo High Protein Frozen Yogurt –  4 oz Water – 2 oz Ice – 1 “Dash” of Simply Organic Peppermint Flavor   (Less than a 1/4 of a teaspoon)

Okay, here is what to do:  Step #1 –  Drop your ProYo in the blender. Step #2 – Add 4 oz of Water  & 2 oz of ice. Step #3-  Add 1 “Dash” of the Peppermint Flavor.   A little goes a long way.  By “Dash” we mean literally no more than 5 drops.    For your first one try 2 drops. If you prefer more, then try a couple more.  You probably wouldn’t need more than 5 drops (or a 1/4 of a teaspoon). Step #4- Hit the switch on your blender, pour in a cup, and enjoy.
