As we get picked up in more stores in New England (check out our Store Finder, Bostonians), we’ve had the opportunity to meet some inspiring local bloggers focused on health, nutrition and fitness. Nancy Oliveira of RD Recipe Source is one of those bloggers. Nancy is particularly inspiring to our team here at ProYo as she’s all about making real food choices and being selective about desserts to achieve optimum wellness. How amazing is Nancy? She’s also a writer for Harvard’s Nutrition Source and still has time to teach barre and dance step classes while serving her patients. Wow!

After joining us for our Earth Ride last month, Nancy experimented with our ProYo High Protein Frozen Yogurts in her own kitchen to create some recipes that balance awesome taste and nutrition. Got a sweet tooth and don’t want to over-indulge late at night? Try out this Decadent Dessert Bowl from Nancy; we promise you’ll find satisfaction!

Here is the recipe:


– 1 4oz Dutch Chocolate ProYo High Protein Frozen Yogurt

Topping selections: 

– Chopped fresh fruit, like bananas or berries

– Dried fruit

– Chopped nuts

– Seeds

– Flaxseeds

– Chia seeds

– Wheat germ

– Granola

– Rolled oats

– Flaked coconut

– Nut butter

– Dark chocolate chips

– Chocolate syrup


– Pull Dutch Chocolate ProYo High Protein Frozen Yogurt from the freezer and rinse tube under warm water for a few minutes to soften

– Squeeze tube into small bowl and flatten out the yogurt with a spoon

– Sprinkle on your favorite toppings, as much or as little as you like! Nancy made her bowl – pictured here – with sliced banana, unsweetened flaked coconut, wheat germ, dark chocolate chips, melted peanut butter, and chocolate syrup
